The Atari 2600 was released in the 1970’s in Japan, United Kingdom & United States. When first released it was provided nine games, which at the time was a huge amount of games. After a very poor late 70’s in the early 80’s they released the home version of Space Invaders and sales rocketed again, and following another crash in sales Atari released Pacman and ET. However in 1986 the console fell out of fashion following the rise of Nintendo.
